Mental Illness Social Recreation programs
Pete's Place provides mental illness social recreation programs in a safe venue for people living with a mental illness allowing them to socialise, make new friends and learn new skills. Open Monday-Friday

Membership Becoming a member is easy- just ask staff Each member is a valued and needed contributor. Active membership can provide a sense of fulfilment and belonging,Improve self-esteem and social skills,Increase employment skills,And a connection to the community. Members can complete a Personal Development Plan with a member of staff to identify and work towards social and recreational goals. Lunch is served at 12pm for $1.00 to eligible members ...Please observe there is a 11.30 deadline when booking in for lunch
Programs Pete's Place offers a range of rehabilitation programs to assist people with a mental illness to work towards social and recreational goals. Program times vary, a timetable is available from the centre.

Health and Well Being ...Exercise Groups, Yoga, Relaxation,health education. ...Brain exercises, stress & anxiety management
Skills development. ...Cooking skills ...Computer skills- a computer and printer is available for letter writing, games and general use. Staff are available to assist you if you have not used a computer before or if you want to learn a new skill. ...Domestic skills- all members contribute to the general running of the centre depending on an individual's ability.
COOL Program: Community Options for Outdoor Leisure. The COOL Program is offered one weekday evening and one day each weekend, including some public holidays. A Recreation Support Worker assists individuals to engage in social and recreational activities within the wider community, either individually or in groups. Activities can include for example movies,fishing,aqua aerobics,educational visits,coffee mornings, 8 ball or ten pin bowling. Costs: Participants meet their own costs eg entry fees or bus tickets.Staff are sometimes able to secure discounts.Many activities can be cost free or low cost depending on your budget.
